Endoscopic castration

Endoscopic castration of a female dog and of cryptorchid male dogs (undescended testicle)

The endoscopic castration belongs to minimally invasive procedures. Using small access points, a special camera and corresponding surgical instruments are introduced into the abdominal cavity and castration is performed without further opening of the abdominal wall. This procedure has a number of advantages when compared to the traditional surgical castration:

  • Less wound pain
  • Faster healing after the operation
  • Lower risk of wound licking
  • Lower potential for wound complications
  • Shorter anesthesia times by experienced routine performance
