A SUB ( Subcutaneous Ureteral Bypass) is a bypass connecting the ureter with a port that is located under the skin . Similar to ureteric stents, this bypass restores the urine flow from the kidney to the urinary bladder. The most frequent indication, also in this case, is the presence of stones in the ureter. Compared to the stent, the SUB has the following advantage: often it is easier to insert and thus it facilitates reduction of operating times . Also in this case, compared to traditional surgical interventions, the potential for complications is significantly reduced.
